The Glass Yard
Llama Architects is delighted to have been appointed the Lead Designer for this large scale leisure and retail development in the Peak District. The client approached the practice having been impressed with the quality of our design on the residential side, as he wanted the same ground breaking and innovative approach on this very large Commercial Project. On a former brown-field site, this was a lengthy, complex process working at local and national government level to secure this permission. More Commercial projects like this are also coming soon.
Reimagining the vacant 2 acre site, the scheme is designed as a modern articulation of traditional agricultural vernacular. Inspired by the barn form, the focus of the site is to house a wide range of high-end eateries and vendors in an eclectic covered market setting.
Teamed with an array of high-quality office and working spaces, this site is designed to provide a destination venue within the local area and the springboard for a range of similar venues intended to be rolled out in the future.
Planning Permission for this Project was granted in February 2018.
