This wonderful project was a new build house, constructed less than 10 years ago when our clients purchased it.
Spread over four floors, the original design and layout did not work for our client and their young family, so a comprehensive redesign and structural alteration was proposed, including feature sliding doors and glass window box leading out to the garden. Landscaping/driveway and gates were also redesigned and constructed with our sister company Llama Architects.
The house is in a lovely no through road in Wilmslow, which our clients loved but the layout of the house and lack of storage on all floors made the house difficult for our clients. An extension was considered, but ultimately the decision was made to utilise the existing footprint with a complete redesign and keeping maximum amounts of garden space for the children.
The ground floor was the biggest problem and involved the largest amount of work. New structural openings were formed, both internally and externally, creating a much more open and free flowing use of the space. New kitchen/dining room was designed as well as entrance, boot room, play room and living room. New Plant Room/Utility & Laundry was fitted to the basement level along with a large redesigned entertainment space. 1st and 2nd floor bedrooms were redesigned with all new bathrooms, dressing rooms and complete interior fit out.
Feature lighting, AV and complimenting exterior furniture was also installed within this now beautifully stylish Interior Architecture project.
