Three Tips to Create a Calm & Clutter-Free Space

At times, simplicity is preferable to complexity- particularly when it comes to the environments we live and work in. Here are three tips on how you can create a calm, clutter-free space.

Mastering the art of simplicity can be a challenge, but too much clutter can play a significant role in how we feel about our home or workspace. So here are some ways you can create neat and tidy spaces that promote calm and restoration.

Designated Storage Space

Tip 1: Identify which spaces are clutter magnets, and create storage solutions.

Too much clutter can be overwhelming, particularly in a home and office environment. Adopt the minimalist mindset and transform your space into a organised and clutter-free haven.

Identify the spaces that habitually become clutter magnets and accumulate lots of items, then decide on a designated place for them, and make sure you always return items to your chosen space. A clutter-free space doesn’t mean you have to compromise on personality. Opt for stylish built-in storage, shelving, boxes, bins and baskets.

Perfection is achieved, not when there’s nothing left to add, but when there’s nothing left to take away.

Quality Over Quantity

Tip 2: Eliminate unnecessary details, and select timeless pieces that you love.

At Llama Group, we are committed to sourcing innovative handmade furniture, lighting and accessories that showcase expert craftsmanship with uncompromising quality. We choose to work exclusively with hand picked luxury brands we have globally sourced, to ensure the exemplary standard we have become renowned for.

Each and every piece of furniture featured in our projects have been carefully selected by our Janey Butler Interiors design team. These sophisticated statement pieces are more than just functional objects for the home, but rather, decorative pieces of art that push the boundaries of interior design with the ability to evoke emotions, through the use of colours, textures and patterns.

In the words of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, "Perfection is achieved, not when there’s nothing left to add, but when there’s nothing left to take away.”

Peaceful Paint

Tip 3: Don't underestimate the power of colour.

Modern life can be hectic, and at times overwhelming, so it's important to create an environment where you can clear mental clutter and focus on wellbeing.

Choosing the correct colour palette for your space can contribute to a calm and peaceful atmosphere. This doesn’t mean you have to opt for cold and uninviting hues, rather warm natural tones that promote relaxation and restoration.
